ARTS, EDUCATION, & COMMUNITY
EMPOWERMENT
(AND ITALY!)
TEACHING
> LEARNING > TEACHING
For years, multidisciplinary artist Anthem Salgado has shared workshops
with both students and educators, from the inner city to the college
campus. Whatever the medium, visual arts, literary arts, or performing
arts, Anthem always gives more to his planned activities by blending
self-empowerment and self-determination into
his teaching values.
This summer, Anthem is being given the chance to train with master
artists in the theater field, Daniel Banks and Takeshi Kawamura, in
Italy!
Please consider supporting this endeavor so that this artisan, educator,
cultural worker, and active community member may continue to hone his
craft and enrich his teaching methodologies as well as his artistic
practices.
Your
contributions are greatly appreciated. Please see all exchange and donation options to the right of
your screen.
If you are interested in trading other consulting services - personal
coaching, marketing and publicity, event managing and coordination -
please get in touch.
One thousand thanks to you for taking the time to hear out this
request.
BIO
Anthem Salgado, a San Francisco Art Institute graduate, is a
multidisciplinary artist and educator. His visual art has exhibited in
numerous galleries and spaces including Oakland Museum of California.
Salgado has held a teaching artist residency at Downtown Continuation
High School, was a 2008 Philippines Fulbright-Hays scholar, and has
qualifications that far exceeded the requirements for the California
Subject Examination for Teachers in the arena of Art, allowing him to
bypass the test entirely. In 2009, Anthem Salgado co-organized Kapwa
Conference for educators at San Francisco State University.
He has performed his original solo-theater creations on the stages of
Asian Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and Intersection for
the Arts. He played the lead role in the opening show of Brava Theater's
'08-'09 season, Friends written
by Kobo Abe. In 2008, national organization for American theatre,
Theatre Communications Group, bestowed Anthem Salgado the title of Young
Leader of Color.
Salgado's spoken word has traveled throughout the Bay Area, New York,
Honolulu, and Manila. As a literary artist, his fiction appears in the
anthologies, Field of Mirrors
and I Saw My Ex at a Party.
